Worship With Us
"When we come to worship, we are gathering with other believing Christians and entering into the presence of the Creator of all that is, offering a sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving."
- PCUSA “What We Believe”
West Raleigh Presbyterian has a rich heritage of inspiring worship. There is a blend of traditional and familiar with new and contemporary. Sermons and liturgy are primarily lectionary based though there are times that call for different biblical exploration and proclamation.
West Raleigh’s music is rooted in classical sacred music with organ and piano, though the congregation enjoys various types of musical genres such as bluegrass, gospel, spirituals and jazz.
CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
West Raleigh welcomes children of all ages in worship! God put the wiggle in children—don’t feel you have to suppress it in God’s house. Most Sundays, after the Lesson for Young Christians, children aged 3 1/2—8 are invited to Children’s Worship, a story and response experience in their own worship space. For infants and toddlers, loving and safe childcare is available in room 115 from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
COMMUNION
West Raleigh celebrates an open table. The Book of Order declares, “All who come to the Table are offered the bread and cup, regardless of their age or understanding.”
