West Raleigh is a curious congregation that believes in life-long learning. A variety of opportunities and offerings encourage the community’s faith formation.
Faith Formation
Sunday morning Faith Formation classes take place from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.
Christian Spirituality
This group focuses on the scripture readings that will be the focus of Sunday worship. In addition to Sunday morning meetings, participants often gather for fellowship.
Family Faith/Haasis Contemporary Christianity
This group engages in a variety of topics led by class members and guest speakers. Issues of faith, theology, and culture are some issues for discussion.
Joel Moody/Alice Broome Bible Class
Using the PC(USA) curriculum, The Present Word, this class deepens their relationship with God and one another as they explore the biblical text.

Inter-Generational Gatherings
On some Sundays, varied ages gather to creatively explore a spiritual practice, mark an important milestone, or celebrate an important festival of the church year.
SMALL GROUPS
Theology on Tap
These 3-6 week topical studies are offered in the spring and fall to enable learners to delve more deeply into areas of interest. Theology on Tap is led by church staff and/or members of the congregation and often focuses on theological books or video series.

Our Young Adult Group meets weekly on Wednesdays for fun, fellowship and study.

Presbyterian Women

RETREATS
All-Church Retreat
The whole congregation gathers together to learn and grow during this weekend away. This retreat typically takes place after Easter with locations including Montreat, Camp Albemarle, and Umstead Park.
