West Raleigh Thanks One Treasurer & Welcomes Another

West Raleigh Presbyterian Church is powered by the Holy Spirit. That said, the Holy Spirit makes good use of the fifty solar panels on the church roof and an army of disciples committed to the congregation’s ministry and care. One of those committed disciples at the heart of West Raleigh is the Treasurer.

For the last four years, Hank Taylor has been faithfully serving as West Raleigh’s Treasurer. Hank said yes at a time when West Raleigh remained in transition. Rev. Lori Pistor was the Interim Pastor at the time, and the church was in the middle of making a move from a staff member handling the bookkeeping to hiring an outside firm, Trinity Financial Concepts. Hank was surrounded by a dedicated Stewardship & Finance Team and capable and committed staff; however, as the Treasurer, he was often the one in the middle of communication and follow-through on all things financial. In her tribute to Hank at his last Session meeting as West Raleigh’s Treasurer, Kathy Huffstetler celebrated and thanked Hank as an outstanding Treasurer. Hank is realistic and reliable, she wrote “showing us what is sensible and achievable and yet giving us freedom to make exciting decisions within the constraints of a budget...You could always count on Hank to be the best Treasurer possible.” On behalf of the Session and whole congregation, thank you, Hank Taylor, for always being on the other end of This email address is being protected from spambots. In the same breath that we thank Hank; we also welcome Bob Meynardie into the role of Treasurer. The Session elected Bob to serve as Treasurer at their June meeting, making it effective July 1st. Bob has served and moderated the Diaconate. He knows the people and processes of West Raleigh well. He joins a seasoned Stewardship & Finance Team, chaired by Susan Baucom (Finance) and Pam Wilson (Stewardship). He will continue to work with the team from Trinity Financial Concepts to ensure that West Raleigh maintains our Financial Principles, transparency and internal controls. He will also now be the one on the other end of This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. email address. As such he will have access to prior communication and decisions as we try to make this transition as seamless as possible. On behalf of the Session and whole congregation, thank you, Bob Meynardie for saying yes to this season of service as West Raleigh’s Treasurer.
