A Mid-Week Pause

How Do You Envision God?

7-week book study based on Quest for the Living God by Elizabeth A. Johnson

Wednesdays beginning September 11

Noon – 1 PM in the parlor

What are the images of God that feed your spirit and help you live out your faith? Elizabeth Johnson, author of the book, Quest for the Living God, contends that “there has been a renaissance of new insights into God in the Christian tradition. On different continents, under pressure from historical events and social conditions, people of faith have glimpsed the living God in fresh ways.”

You are invited to take part in a 7-week small group discussing select chapters in this book.  We will gather at noon, begin our conversation at about 12:10, and end with a brief time of silence and a prayer or poem, so that everyone can be on their way by 1 pm sharp.   Chapter topics include “Gracious Mystery, Ever Greater, Ever Nearer” and “God Acting Womanish.”

If you are interested in taking part, contact Jerry McMahon who will forward the introduction to the book or purchase Quest for the Living God via your favorite online retailer.
